Essential Functions:

Facilities Management

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Knowledgeable or willing to learn laws, regulations, OSHA requirements and guidelines pertaining to this position.
  • Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing proper administrative procedures and maintaining a sound operation.
  • Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and the appearance of the office by regular inspections and appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, to handle members and staff, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must possess the ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Must possess the ability to use written and oral communication skills to effectively convey intended message to the recipient.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating all facility repair, preventive maintenance scheduled, on-going maintenance, installations and refurbishments.
  • Manage the maintenance, operation and upkeep of all equipment, facility and grounds of Beachwood Mandel Campus, Camp Wise, and Anisfield to meet health and safety standards, efficient operations standards and to ensure safeguarding of assets and property. Ensure physical property and equipment is in compliance with all safety and public business ordinances.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds and associated equipment. Inspect buildings and all related equipment to determine need for repairs and renovations.
  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
  • Implement actions in support of the organization’s risk management processes.
  • Coordinate with Philanthropy, Security, and Fiscal on all grant requirements
  • Oversee and assist with Capital projects: Vision 2024
  • Supervise all facilities staff and external contractors. Oversee and engage contractors for facility repair and capital/renovation projects.
  • Control facility usage, space allocation, waste disposal etc.
  • Manage all building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety and waste management.
  • Manage and train a staff of employees in the general maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment.
  • Ensure facilities follow all safety standards.
  • Manage subordinate staff in day-to-day performance of their duties.
  • Develop and manage a work order system which provides for appropriate tracking and delegation of tasks to facility staff.
  • Ensure that project/department milestones are met adhering to approved budgets.
  • Develop comprehensive facility operation budget annually. Keep financial and non-financial records; perform analysis and forecasting.
  • Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and the appearance of the office by regular inspections and appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Update, document and train all staff across the enterprise in OSHA

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Degree
  • 10 years of proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
  • Risk Management knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles to prepare budgets, analyze contracts, prepare basic project cost analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge and experience relative to electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation systems
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent experience
  • Certifications related to Life Safety Equipment, HVAC management, Pool operations, OSHA, or relevant skills.
  • Experience in healthcare or education campus setting environment preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Visual acuity and accuracy
  • Ability to move throughout the building
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to view a computer screen and perform above functions on a computer
  • Ability to sit for up to eight hours per day
  • Ability to life up to 25 pounds as necessary
